The mill was built in 1875 by order of Jan Mathijs Peerlings.
The building probably had to do with the closing of two water corn mills in 1880, when the water system had to be improved. The mill remained until the beginning of the 70s in use. Then the miller had to quit his business and the mill came to stand still.
In 1991 the municipality bought the St. Anna and let the dilapidated mill be renovated.
Since Januar 2010, the Millfoundation 'Weerterland' owns the mill.The mill is open to visitors every 1st Wednesday 13:00 to 17:00 and when the grinder is running.
