A ray of hope
The Wessem-Nederweert canal formed part of the front line at the end of October 1944. Oberst Harry Hermann has his command post in Heythuysen and his 'Parapluus', German Fallschirmjäger seek shelter at Kloosterhof and the St.Elisabeth convent. Some behave roughly and appropriate everything, others behave well and seek contact with the nuns and fathers....
